Bio
Major: Exercise Science
Berkli Benefield is an Exercise Science major who values Union’s small class sizes, where students don’t get lost in the crowd and can build real relationships with professors and classmates.
Her dream is to become a strength and conditioning coach, helping young athletes feel confident, get stronger, and elevate their performance. In high school, her favorite subject was science, and in her free time, she enjoys weightlifting and listening to music.
Her volleyball icon is Jillian Gillen. Berkli’s favorite drink is a Bang Energy Drink, her go-to road trip snack is pretzels, and her favorite meal is shrimp Alfredo. She’s active on TikTok and has a full house with six dogs and three cats.
As a teammate, Berkli sees herself as a confident leader and wants to be remembered for playing a part in rebuilding the volleyball program. A fun fact about her—she can make a whole room laugh without even trying. She credits Coach Hicks, a Union alum herself, for making a strong positive impact on her journey. Berkli’s second-best sport is track and field.
