Major: Biology (Pre-Med)
Minor: Business Management

Sloan Coursey is a Biology major on the Pre-Med track with a minor in Business Management. She loves the smaller campus size at Union, which has allowed her to form close and meaningful connections with much of the student body. Her ultimate goal is to become a pediatrician, inspired by her passion for caring for others—especially children, who she describes as “bright lights in this world.”

In high school, Sloan’s favorite subjects were Biology and Chemistry. Outside the classroom, she enjoys singing at church and embroidering. She’s ambidextrous—able to use both hands equally well—and her favorite social media platform is Instagram. Her favorite drink is lemonade, her favorite road trip snack is cheddar Chex Mix, and her go-to meal is sushi. Sloan has one cat named Walter and two dogs, Sadie and Sere.

Sloan describes herself as a hardworking and dependable teammate who holds herself to a high standard and performs well under pressure. She is also deeply encouraging, always seeking to lift up those around her. Her volleyball icon is Madison Lilley, and her second-best sport is basketball.

Sloan hopes to be remembered for her strong work ethic and, most importantly, for being a light for Jesus. One person who has made a lasting impact on her at Union is Professor Libby Megna, who has positively influenced her academic and personal growth.
