Major: Exercise Science

Joshua Grubb’s favorite thing about Union is that it feels like home. Having grown up around campus, he’s always felt comfortable and safe at Union, making it a special place in his life.

His dream is to become a physical therapist, not only to help people recover physically but also to support them mentally through their healing journey. His favorite subjects in high school were social studies, forestry, and biology.

Outside of the classroom, Joshua enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors. His running icon is Steve Prefontaine, who became a global symbol for the sport and the face of Nike. His go-to drink is coffee, and his favorite road-trip snack is Clif Bars. He loves a good plate of chicken alfredo, and his favorite social media platform is Snapchat.

Joshua has three dogs and considers himself a motivational teammate—the kind of person you can always rely on to show up and lift others up. He wants to be remembered as the guy who always shows up—the one you can count on no matter what.

An interesting fact about him: Joshua has been saved for over four years now, and after surviving a serious car accident, he realized that even at rock bottom, Jesus was that rock. What felt like losing everything became a moment of true gain—because Jesus was right there with him when he needed Him most.

His Sunday school teacher, Caleb Teague, graduated from Union and also ran cross country and track & field. Outside of running, Joshua’s third best sport is swimming.
