Bulldogs Build Momentum at Mike & Mary Johnson Classic
BEREA, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University cross country teams raced Saturday at the Mike & Mary Johnson Classic, hosted at Berea College's Alumni Fields.
Women's Results
The women's team placed fifth overall with a total time of 2:08:32, averaging 25:42 per runner, and a team score of 109.
Sofia Petz led the Bulldogs, placing 13th overall with a season-best time of 22:18.0 (7:10.6), cutting over a minute from her previous race. Andrea Smith continued her strong freshman season with a 23:24.2 (7:31.9) finish. Jasmine Clouse followed at 24:39.6 (7:56.2), while Kaylee Hall ran 24:54.8 (8:01.1).
Men's Results
The Bulldogs finished fourth overall with a total time of 2:37:32, averaging 31:30 per runner, and a team score of 99.
Connor Partin paced Union with a sixth-place finish in 29:10.9 (5:52.2). Zabrey Bortz also impressed with a 29:22.7 (5:54.6) and a tenth-place finish, marking a strong improvement from his last outing. Connor Messer clocked 30:40.1 (6:10.1), while Joshua Grubb added a solid performance at 32:17.5 (6:29.7).
