Major: Health and Physical Education

Sydney Worde is a Health and Physical Education major who cherishes the friendships and tight-knit community Union has given her. Her dream is to one day own an animal farm that rehomes and cares for animals in need.

Sydney’s favorite subject in high school was English. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, and driving around listening to music. Her favorite social media platform is TikTok. When it comes to snacks, she loves Cheez-Its and Dr. Pepper, and her favorite meal is hibachi chicken with rice. She has a dog named Smokey and a cat named Nala. One fun and meaningful fact about her: she enjoys rescuing stray animals and helping them find loving homes.

On the court, Sydney describes herself as a supportive teammate—someone who’s always there for others. She hopes to be remembered for her kindness and being the person everyone felt comfortable turning to. Her volleyball icon is Elena Scott, and her second- and third-best sports are softball and basketball.

Several people at Union have made a lasting impression on Sydney. When she needs support or just someone to talk to, she turns to Clay Butler, Christa Hicks, and Christopher Gibson. She also shares a special connection to the school through her older brother, who is a Union graduate.
