Major: Elementary Education

Lain Prather is an Elementary Education major who loves Union for its close-knit, family-like atmosphere. She enjoys being part of a smaller school where everyone shows up to support one another and campus feels like home.

Her dream job is to become a kindergarten teacher, driven by her passion for helping young children build a strong foundation for their education. Math was her favorite subject in high school, and outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Lain’s volleyball icon is Elena Scott. Her favorite drink is sweet tea, her go-to road trip snack is blue Sour Punch Straws, and her favorite meal is hibachi. She’s most active on Instagram and has both a dog and a cat.

As a teammate, Lain gives 100% every time she steps on the court. She wants to be remembered for being a positive influence in others’ lives. A fun fact about her—her knees are double-jointed! She credits Carol Clouse as someone who’s made a lasting positive impact on her time at Union. Her second-best sport is wake surfing.
