Major: Chemistry

Zabrey Bortz’s favorite thing about Union is the atmosphere on campus and the connection he shares with his teammates. His love for science led him to major in chemistry, and his dream is to become a pharmacist, a field where his academic strengths and passions align.

In high school, his favorite subject was science, and he looks up to Jakob Ingebrigtsen as his running icon. His hobbies include golfing and watching sports, and his favorite team is the Phoenix Suns. Zabrey’s go-to drink is strawberry watermelon Ale-8, and on road trips, you’ll catch him snacking on Grippos. His favorite meal? A good crab boil. On social media, he prefers Instagram, and he has two dogs, Kopi and Si.

Zabrey considers himself a leader on the team and wants to be remembered for being fast and always being helpful. Something interesting about him is his love for golf, and outside of running, his second-best sports are golf, basketball, or swimming. Two individuals who have made a positive impact on his journey at Union are Christopher Jelks and Robin Hamilton.
