Minor: Philosophy

Johnathon Bayne’s favorite thing about Union is the community and the people who make it feel like home. A passionate student of the past, his dream job is to become a history professor, where he hopes to share his knowledge and inspire others.

His favorite subject in high school was social studies, and when he’s not studying or competing, you can find him enjoying his favorite hobby—golf. On road trips, he snacks on Funyuns and drinks plenty of water, and his go-to meal is chicken fettuccine alfredo. His favorite social media app is Snapchat, and he shares his home with both a cat and a dog.

Johnathon considers himself a supportive teammate, someone who always shows up for others and wants to be remembered for being there when people needed him most. Something interesting about him? He loves playing all kinds of sports in his free time.

A person at Union who’s had a major impact on him is Coach Doyle. “If you asked me a year ago if I had even a thought of going to college, it would’ve been an absolute no—but Coach Doyle changed that.”

His second-best sport is golf, and his dedication to both academics and athletics makes him a valued part of the Union community.
