Union Men’s Bowling Opens Season at Columbia 300 Western Shootout

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Union Commonwealth University men's bowling team officially opened its 2025 season this past weekend, competing in the Columbia 300 Western Shootout against a strong field of nearly 300 bowlers.

The Bulldogs finished 27th overall, recording a team total of 5,472, a baker total of 3,001, and a combined score of 8,473. The event featured six traditional team games and 16 baker games, with individual averages calculated from the six team games.

Landon Dunlap led the Bulldogs with a 90th-place finish, tallying 1,136 pins and averaging 189.3 over six games. Gunner Watson followed in 103rd with 1,100 total pins and an average of 183.3.

Hunter Cain placed 114th, posting 1,052 pins with a 175.3 average. Ryan Sheidler added 978 pins across five games, averaging 195.6, while Ethan Segna knocked down 660 pins over four games for a 165 average. Johnathon Bayne rounded out Union's scoring with 546 pins across three games, averaging 182 per game.

The Bulldogs will return to action at the Bee Bash #1 and #2, set for Saturday, Oct. 18, and Sunday, Oct. 19.
