Union XC Breaks Multiple Program Records

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University men's cross country runners junior Connor Partin and sophomore Connor Messer etched their names into the Bulldog record book. 

The duo broke into the top five all-time 5K performances during the season-opening BCCC Cross Country Jamboree on Friday, Aug. 29.

Partin posted a time of 17:29.8, securing the No. 3 spot in team history for fastest 5K. He surpassed the previous No. 3 record of 17:47.70, set by Logan Congo at the Victor Ashe Fall Classic on Sept. 5, 2015.

Messer followed closely, clocking in at 17:46.7 to claim the No. 4 all-time position. He edged out Caleb Choate's mark of 17:48.36, also recorded at the 2015 Victor Ashe Fall Classic.

The duo's strong performances add to the men's team's historic leaderboard and set the tone for the program in the time ahead.
