Mike Golden brings a positive, team-first attitude to Union, thriving in its small, close-knit community. Off the field, he enjoys putting together puzzles, building plastic model cars, and playing card games like rummy. A passionate advocate for the special education community, Mike aspires to become a Special Education teacher, inspired by his love for working with kids with mental disabilities.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, his favorite subject in high school was math, and his athletic icon is Steve Prefontaine for his fearless racing style. Mike’s favorites include sweet tea, sizzling bacon sunflower seeds for road trips, and fried chicken with his mom’s squash casserole. Known as an encourager, he supports his teammates and lifts their spirits when needed. Mike is also skilled in unconventional games like cornhole, spikeball, and hillbilly golf.
Above all, Mike hopes to be remembered for his compassion, respect, and dedication to making a positive impact on those around him.
