Union Men’s Basketball Drops Road Game to Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team (6-9) was defeated 91-74 by Lindsey Wilson (9-4) on Saturday night at Biggers Sports Center.

Senior forward Dallas Rufus led the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field. Junior forward Devin Dunn added 17 points, while sophomore forward Jamarion Gaines rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half: Lindsey Wilson 38, Union Commonwealth 25
The opening minutes were tightly contested, as Union trailed just 9-7 with a little more than 15 minutes remaining in the half. Lindsey Wilson then used a 12-3 run to build an 11-point advantage at 21-10 with 11:14 left. Both teams traded baskets for the remainder of the half, with the Blue Raiders carrying a 38-25 lead into the break.

Second Half: Lindsey Wilson 91, Union Commonwealth 74
The second half mirrored the end of the first, as both teams exchanged scores early. Neither side was able to significantly shift momentum through the opening 10 minutes. Lindsey Wilson pulled away with a decisive 14-5 run beginning at the 9:53 mark, extending its lead to 76-57. Union was unable to close the gap down the stretch, as the Blue Raiders maintained control to secure the 91-74 win.
