Bulldogs Battle Through Loss at Milligan
MILLIGAN, Tenn. - Union Commonwealth University's women's basketball team (1-6, 0-3 AAC) fell to Milligan (4-4, 3-0 AAC) on Saturday afternoon at Steve Lavy Fieldhouse, 57-93.
Freshman forward Kylie Noe led Union Commonwealth with 22 points, going 10-of-14 from the field, while also adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshman forward Aymanni Wynn paced the team on the boards with 8 rebounds and added 10 points. Defensively, senior guard Isis Rodgers and sophomore point guard Sarah Smith each contributed 3 steals.
How It Happened
First Quarter: Union Commonwealth 7, Milligan 29
Union created good looks early but couldn't get shots to fall, putting the Bulldogs behind quickly. Noe delivered multiple strong finishes and key rebounds, while Wynn and freshman guard Aniyah Carter added early points to help steady the offense. Despite the effort on the boards and on defense, Union trailed 29–7 after the first quarter.
Second Quarter: Union Commonwealth 26 , Milligan 48
Union came out with more energy in the second quarter, with Carter, Wynn, and Rodgers providing key baskets. The Bulldogs grabbed some offensive rebounds and forced a few turnovers, but they struggled to consistently convert on offense and could not slow Milligan's scoring, leaving them down 26–48 at halftime.
Third Quarter: Union Commonwealth 39, Milligan 73
The Bulldogs continued to fight with Noe and sophomore center Lindsey Pirkle contributing offensively. Union battled for rebounds, yet missed opportunities and defensive lapses allowed Milligan to maintain a 73-39 lead going into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter: Union Commonwealth 57, Milligan 93
Union continued to push through but Milligan maintained strong offensive dominance. The Bulldogs competed on both ends, fighting for rebounds and creating opportunities, with Noe leading the offense with 12 points in the quarter. Milligan held firm, controlling the game through the final minutes.
