Bulldogs Capture Several Titles at MSC 3D Archery Championships
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University archery team competed in the Mid-South Conference 3D Championships. The Bulldogs secured a fourth-place team finish overall.
The Bulldogs competed in individual shootouts, team rounds, and mixed team events.
Official Team Rounds
In men's compound, the Bulldogs' trio of Kaden Ward, Kapt Brandt and Sergio Edgar Martinez Cruz claimed the conference title, edging Cumberlands with a score of 190. On the women's side, Ava Noehre, Ruthie Masengale and Zoie Thompson placed fourth in compound with a 167.
The fixed pins team of Taylor Gwynette, Ryker Jordan and Carter Shinavier earned third place, defeating Lindsey Wilson with a score of 186.
Mixed Team Rounds
In mixed recurve, John Shelby Stephens and Danica Wiseman secured a runner-up finish with a score of 95. The pairing of Kyle Coffey and Baylee McQueen took third in mixed barebow, shooting a 110. Meanwhile, Ward and Noehre earned second place in mixed compound with a 120.
Individual Shootdown
Ward placed fourth in men's compound after shooting a 59, while Wiseman claimed second in women's recurve with a 58. Coffey captured the men's barebow title with a score of 64, and McQueen added a third-place finish in women's barebow with a 52.
Overall, the Bulldogs collected two gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the championships.
