Carter Shinavier values Union Commonwealth University for the chance to know many people across campus. Outside of archery, he enjoys playing other sports and spending time outdoors, with baseball and tennis rounding out his athletic interests. A fan of Miguel Cabrera, Carter admires his skill and dedication.

When it comes to favorites, he enjoys Cherry Coke, beef jerky on road trips, and venison steak. Math was his favorite subject in high school, and he shares his home with one dog.

As a teammate, Carter is a leader who sets an example and hopes to be remembered for always doing the right thing. Coach Chris Gibson has made a positive impact on his journey at Union.
