Union Women Compete at AAC Track and Field Championships

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. — The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend, hosted by Montreat College.

Sprints, Hurdles & Relays
Kaidence Key led the Bulldogs in the sprints, placing ninth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.61. She also paced Union in the 200 meters, finishing 13th in 26.32.

Ava Arnett represented Union in the 400-meter hurdles, earning a ninth-place finish with a time of 1:12.92.

In relay action, the 4x400 team of Arnett, Dagmara Lubina, Latalyah Sloan, and Andrea Smith recorded a time of 4:26.39. The 4x800 relay team of Lydia Workman, Bella Townsend, Lubina, and Smith posted a time of 12:26.72.

Jumps
Paula Sanchez Schulz led Union in the field events, placing seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.48 meters. She also competed in the long jump, finishing eighth with a mark of 4.91 meters.

Throws
Abigail Bradley represented the Bulldogs in the shot put, placing 10th with a throw of 10.66 meters, and also competed in the discus with a mark of 26.62 meters. Lydia Workman added a mark of 18.45 meters in the javelin.
