Bulldogs Place Sixth at Cumberlands Early Spring Invite
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed at the Cumberlands Early Spring Invite on Friday, finishing sixth out of eight teams with 41 points.
Sprints & Distance
Kaidence Key led the Bulldogs in the 100 meters, placing third with a time of 12.93 in a field of 12 competitors. Kaelyn Halmon followed in eighth place at 13.49. Halmon also competed in the 200 meters, leading Union with a 28.23 finish.
In the 400 meters, Bella Townsend and Kaylee Hall paced the Bulldogs. Townsend finished in 1:13.22, while Hall crossed the line in 1:15.86.
Andrea Smith led Union in the 800 meters with a fifth-place finish in 2:37.91.
Jumps and Hurdles
Jazelynn Doneghy represented Union in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in 19.14. She later returned in the triple jump and secured a third-place finish with a mark of 9.13 meters.
Ava Arnett earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, leading the Bulldogs with a time of 1:14.63.
Paula Sanchez Schultz placed third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.40 meters in a field of nine competitors. Schultz also competed in the long jump, finishing fourth with a mark of 4.71 meters.
Throws
Abigail Bradley represented Union in all throwing events. She recorded a mark of 9.64 meters in the shot put and threw 24.91 meters in the discus. Bradley also competed in the hammer throw, finishing sixth with a mark of 29.54 meters.
