Union’s Iakovlieva named AAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

Barbourville, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University's Anastasiia Iakovlieva has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Iakovlieva secured a 6-2, 6-4 victory in singles play against Campbellsville to go with a 6-2, 7-5 win against No. 24 Indiana Wesleyan. Iakovlieva was in the No. 4 singles position in each match.

In doubles competition, the team of Iakovlieva and Laia Garriga Oms were slotted at third in each match. The duo won 6-2 against Campbellsville and 6-0 against Indiana Wesleyan respectively.

No. 15 UCU went 2-0 on the week. Union won each match 5-2.
