Kondo and Igarashi named Honorable Mentions to All-American teams

Kansas City, Mo. – Union College standouts Karen Kondo and Rin Igarashi have been named Honorable Mentions to the 2023 NAIA Women's Tennis All-America Teams.

In April, both Kondo and Igarashi were selected first-team All-AAC. Freshman teammate Liliana Drukerova was also named first-team all-conference.

Kondo was 16-1 in singles play this season with the lone loss occurring in (6-4, 6-4) fashion against Westcliff in the national tournament. Igarashi tallied a 15-2 record in singles competition.

In doubles play, the team of Kondo and Igarashi registered an impressive 16-1 record, which included a 6-2 victory over Westcliff in the national tourney.

In part thanks to Kondo and Igarashi's excellent play this season, the Bulldogs tallied a 16-2 record en route to winning the conference tournament and securing a berth in the national tournament.
