Bulldogs Deliver Solid Performances at Jim Green Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Union Commonwealth University men's track and field team competed at the Jim Green Invitational over the weekend, hosted by the University of Kentucky.

Union finished 10th in the 4x100-meter relay, as Collin Anderson, Camahni John, Keith Hadley and Xavier Owens posted a time of 42.05 seconds.

In the 400-meter dash, Isaiah Spears placed 28th in 52.04 seconds, while Connor Messer recorded a time of 2:05.98 in the 800-meter run.

Nicholas Blann led the Bulldogs in the field events, finishing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.96 meters and ninth in the triple jump at 13.88 meters.

William Sykes paced Union in the javelin throw, placing fourth with a distance of 55.16m.

The Bulldogs will send two athletes to continue competition Friday. William Sykes will compete at the St. Francis Last Fighting Chance Invite, while Nicholas Blann will compete at the Lee University Last Chance meet on May 9.
