Bulldogs Deliver Top Finishes at Centre Twilight Meet
DANVILLE, Ky. — The Union Commonwealth University men's track and field team competed at the Centre Twilight over the weekend hosted by Centre College.
Sprints & Distance
Collin Anderson broke into the top five in the 100 meters, finishing fourth in a field of nearly 40 competitors with a time of 10.75 seconds. Camahni John followed in 11th place at 10.98.
In the 200 meters, after last week's second-place finish at the Asbury Invitational, Keith Hadley led the Bulldogs with a bronze-medal performance, finishing third in 22.18. Anderson and Isaiah Spears tied for 14th at 23.05, both finishing in the top half of the field. Spears also competed in the 400 meters, placing mid-pack in 51.55.
The 800 meters featured more than 50 competitors. Connor Messer placed 11th in 1:59.13, while Zabrey Bortz finished 16th in 2:01.35.
Jumps & Hurdles
In the 110-meter hurdles, T.J. Smith ran 17.74. Torrean Thornton posted a time of 1:11.84 in the 400 hurdles.
Valor Pennington led the Bulldogs in the high jump, placing sixth with a mark of 1.85 meters while Tim Freeman cleared 3.00 meters in the pole vault.
Tyler Sturgill recorded a mark of 5.73 meters in the long jump, followed by T.J. Smith at 5.66 meters.
Nicholas Blann remained undefeated in the triple jump this outdoor season, earning another victory with a mark of 13.94 meters.
Throws
Isaac Doneghy led Union in the shot put with a mark of 11.81 meters. Jesus Calderon competed in the discus, recording a throw of 29.38 meters.
