Union men’s outdoor track and field Centre Invitational recap

Danville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's outdoor track and field team recently competed at the Centre Invitational. The Bulldogs placed 12th overall with a score of 12.

Track Events

In the 200-meter dash, Isaiah Spears secured 13th place with a time of 24.02 seconds. Kamese Higgins also competed in the event, finishing close behind in 15th place with a time of 24.30.

Spears went on to place 11th in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 53.49 seconds. Higgins joined him in the race, finishing with a time of 55.70.

Field Events

Tyler Sturgil earned a fourth-place finish in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.75 meters. In the pole vault, Tim Freeman recorded a mark of 2.85 meters.

Jay Ateeb also claimed fourth place, this time in the triple jump, with amark of 13.00 meters.

In the shot put, Andon Mashburn placed 10th with a throw of 11.94 meters. He was joined by Cedric Irvin and Jacob Bryd, who recorded marks of 11.05 meters and 10.56 meters, respectively.

Irvin and Mashburn also competed in the weight throw. Irvin registered a throw of 10.95 meters, while Mashburn followed closely with a mark of 10.60 meters.

In the heptathlon, Valor Pennington finished sixth overall, accumulating 2,996 points.
