Jesus Calderon’s favorite part of Union Commonwealth University is the opportunity to continue competing in the sport he loves while spending time with teammates who make the experience meaningful. He describes himself as a good teammate, someone who knows how to joke around and keep things light but also lock in when it’s time to be serious.

Outside of track and field, Jesus enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. His dream is to become an athletic trainer, a path shaped by his long standing interest in the athletic field and his desire to stay involved in sports. Social studies was his favorite subject in high school, and he looks up to Ryan Crouser as his favorite icon in the sport.

His favorite drink is Dr Pepper, his go to road trip snack is chips, and he enjoys chicken alfredo. At home, he has four dogs and four cats. Jesus hopes to be remembered for the good times people experience when they are around him.

Coach Payton has played a meaningful role in his journey. Outside of track and field, his best sport is soccer.
