Union men's swimming breaks five program records at NAIA Nationals
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swimming and diving team made history at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Nationals, breaking five program records.
The relay team of Gergely Török, Enzo Constable, Abel Eszenyi, and Malik Biad set a new program record in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:51.37, surpassing the previous record of 6:52.71 set in 2019 by G. Davis, L. Mourao, H. Saraceni, and W. Perkowski.
Constable made waves by breaking his own 100 free record for the fifth time this season, clocking in at 43.71, improving upon his previous record of 44.32 set at the AAC Championships.
For the third time this season, Constable also broke his 100 fly record, posting a time of 47.56 at Nationals, besting his previous mark of 48.09 set at the Bulldogs Invite.
Biad shattered the program record in the 200 fly with a time of 1:50.21, surpassing the previous record of 1:51.46 set by Jose Jesus Morales in 2014.
Eszenyi also set a new milestone by breaking his own 400 IM record for the third time this season. He swam a 3:59.21, improving upon his previous record of 4:00.19 set at the AAC Championships.
