Union men’s swimming defeats Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swimming team competed against Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson on Saturday.
The Bulldogs defeated Campbellsville 158-82 and defeated Lindsey Wilson 131-124. Union earned nine first-place finishes, two seconds, and six thirds.
The team of David Muñiz Espin, Dmitrii Bulakh, Cezary Leiman, and Enzo Constable won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.00. Abel Eszenyi took first place in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:36.04, and Malik Biad also secured a win in the 200 freestyle, where he finished in 1:45.42.
In the 200 butterfly, Constable won at 1:55.91, while Leiman finished second in the 50 freestyle at 22.32 seconds. Constable earned another victory in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 45.69, and Eszenyi placed first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:06.05.
Biad won the 500 freestyle where he finished with a time of 4:49.26. Constable also first placed in the 100 butterfly, where he swam in 50.12.
In the 400 individual medley, Eszenyi and Biad finished in the top two spots. Eszenyi led at 4:10.12 and Biad was close behind at 4:12.97.
Next up for Union men's swimming is an away meet at Transylvania on Friday, Nov. 8, at 5:30 p.m.
