Union men’s swimming breaks five program records
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's swimming and diving team broke five program records this past weekend at the King Invite.
Enzo Constable shattered four records, while Jaedon Lynch set one of his own.
Constable's record-breaking performances began with an impressive swim in the 50-yard freestyle, where he clocked in at 20.37 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 20.57 seconds set by David Johnson in 2010.
He continued in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 45.28 seconds. This performance passed last year's record of 45.93 seconds, held by Gabi Icobescu.
Constable claimed his third and fourth record in the same race - the 100-yard butterfly. His final time of 48.73 seconds surpassed Nathan Lethbridge's previous record of 49.42 seconds, set in 2015. At the same time, his first 50 split of 22.44 seconds also broke Lethbridge's 2015 record of 22.73 seconds.
Lynch had his own record-breaking achievement in the 100-yard individual medley, finishing in 54.05 seconds. He broke the recent record of 57.70 seconds set by Will Webb in 2024.
