Major: Business Management

Joel Turner is majoring in business management while pursuing his ultimate goal of becoming a professional soccer player. He hopes to one day make a career out of playing the sport he loves, allowing him to compete every day while living the lifestyle that comes with being a professional athlete. As he begins his collegiate career at Union, Turner is excited to continue developing both on the field and in the classroom while working toward his long-term ambitions.

Outside of soccer, Turner enjoys playing video games and spending time relaxing with friends. Physical education was his favorite subject in high school, and his favorite soccer player is Wayne Rooney, whose passion, leadership, and competitive spirit have inspired him throughout his career. His favorite meal is his mom's homemade lasagna, while Cherry Pepsi is his drink of choice. On road trips, he's most likely reaching for grapes or sweets, and Instagram is his favorite social media platform.

Turner describes himself as a teammate who brings energy and confidence to the field, always looking to motivate those around him and create a loud, competitive atmosphere during matches. He hopes to be remembered as someone who worked hard, treated everyone with respect, and made a positive impact on those around him. Before moving to the United States, Turner spent a year working as both a bartender and waiter, an experience that helped him build confidence, strengthen his teamwork skills, and learn how to think quickly under pressure. He believes those experiences have prepared him well for the challenges of adapting to life in a new country. He also has two French bulldogs and says that if he weren't playing soccer, basketball would be his second-best sport.
