Mendoza Breaks Single-Season Shutout Record

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University goalkeeper Gabriel Mendoza has set a new program record for single-season shutouts with 11, surpassing the previous mark of 10 set by Marcelo Mercuri in 2016.

Mendoza recorded his 11th clean sheet in Union's 2-0 victory over Spartanburg Methodist, helping the Bulldogs secure their 13th team shutout of the year — also a program record.

The standout keeper currently leads the NAIA in both save percentage (.898) and goals-against average (0.34), anchoring one of the top defenses in the nation.
