UCU falls short against Pikeville

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University men's basketball team hosted Pikeville on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs led by eight points at the half, but UPike won the game 72-64.

UCU's Jeremiah Stroman tallied 20 points and eight rebounds, which led the team in each category. Dallas Rufus contributed 15 points, while Luca Stubel registered nine points and Kenny Garth scored eight. Stubel's four assists tied for the most by any player in the matchup.

Sam Conley tallied six points and six rebounds, while Brian Gilmore Jr. and Micah Engle also scored for UCU. Ben Underwood recorded a game-leading three steals.

The Bulldogs are now 3-3 (2-2 AAC) this season, while Pikeville is 8-1 (4-1 AAC). Up next for Union is a neutral-site matchup against Oakland City on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 10:15 a.m.
