Major: History
Minor: Media Communications

Lucas Gibson is a History major with a Media Communications minor who appreciates Union’s small-town atmosphere. Coming from a small town himself, the campus environment helped him adjust to college life and made it feel more like home.

His favorite subject in high school was social studies, and his dream is to become a school principal. Lucas is passionate about being a positive force in students' lives—he wants to create an environment where kids feel valued, supported, and excited to come to school each day. Outside of academics, he enjoys spending his free time fishing at the lake.

His football icon is Jason Kelce, known for his leadership and consistency. Lucas’ favorite drink is Baja Blast Mountain Dew, and his go-to road trip snack is a Reese’s Cup. His favorite meal? A classic plate of soup beans with cornbread and salmon patties—finished off with apple cobbler for dessert. He’s most active on Facebook and has one German Shepherd.

Lucas considers himself a supportive, dependable, and team-oriented individual. He wants to be remembered as a good teammate—someone others can come to at any time of day, whether on or off the field. His second-best sport is throwing shot put and discus.

He credits both Dr. Pearson and Coach Day as two individuals who have made a significant, positive impact on his time at Union.
