UCU Baseball Drops Midweek Contest at No. 18 Johnson
Knoxville, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth University baseball team (3-8, 0-6 AAC) fell 10-1 in a nonconference road matchup at No. 18 Johnson (13-1, 5-0 AAC) on Tuesday evening.

Johnson jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after RBI singles.

The Royals added two more runs in the third to extend their advantage to 4-0. Johnson continued to build its lead in the middle innings, using a home run, an RBI double and multiple RBI singles to stretch the margin to 9-0.

Union got on the board in the top of the eighth inning when Noah Young delivered an RBI single to score Joaquin Gutierrez, cutting the deficit to 9-1.

Johnson answered with one run in the bottom half of the inning to close out the game at 10-1.
