Assistant Coach - 2nd Season

Oniqueky Samuels enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Bulldog men's soccer program in 2013.

Samuels came to Union College from the University of Maine at Fort Kent, where he served as an Assistant in the Athletic Department during the 2011-12 academic year. In that position, he was responsible for game management at all home athletic events and managed all of the school's athletic facilities.

Samuels entered an administrative role at UMFK after a playing career for the school's men's soccer team from 2007-2010, in which he started for all four years.

During his career, the team posted a 80-4-3 overall record, and won the Sunrise Conference Championship each season. Samuels also helped the team reach the NAIA National Tournament in each season, which included a trip to the National Quarterfinals in 2008, and the Sweet 16 in both 2007 and 2010.

In his senior season of 2010, Samuels was named the Sunrise Conference Defensive Player of the Year, on his way to earning Sunrise All-Conference honors for the second straight season. Samuels ended the 2010 season eighth in the entire NAIA in assists with 13, and concluded his carrer at UMFK with seven goals and 20 assists.

Samuels also received several awards for his excellent work in the classroom. He was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American, and in 2010 was named an NSCAA Academic All-American. He was also a constant on the school's Dean's List, making it every semester from 2008 on.

Before enrolling at UMFK, Samuels was a member of the St. Elizabeth Technical High School squad in his native Jamaica. He also represented his country on the U-17 National Level, as well.

Samuels, a dean's list student, graduated from UMFK with two bachelor's degrees - the first coming in business (2011), and the second coming in Accounting (2012), with a minor in Coaching. He currently resides in Barbourville.
