Becky Bishop took over as head coach for the Union softball program in February of 2013. She joined the school's athletic department in August of 2012 as an assistant coach for the Lady Bulldogs.

Bishop came to Union from Texas A&M-Kingsville, where she served as a softball graduate assistant coach during the 2011-12 season. There, Bishop assisted in all day-to-day facets of the Javelinas' program, while also earning credits towards a Masters degree in Kinesiology from the University.

Bishop is no stranger to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, as she is a native of  Florence. She also played softball at two of the bigger programs in the state - Western Kentucky and the University of Kentucky. Bishop played at WKU from 2005-06, then transferred to UK to finish her career out in 2007-08.

At Kentucky, Bishop batted .303 during the 2007 season in 31 starts. She also ended the year posting a .632 slugging percentage, which was one of the best marks in program history, putting her fourth on the all-time list in the category.

Bishop was honored several times for her work in the classroom, earning a spot on the 2006 Sun Belt Commissioner's List, and the 2007-08 SEC All-Academic Team. She was also named to the 2007 NFCA Scholar-Athlete All-America team, and made the Dean's List at UK in the 2006-07 academic year.

Bishop has also served as a softball instructor at Champions Sports Lexington, and as an assistant coach for the Louisville Lady Sluggers, helping the team win an ASA 18U Southern Gold National Championship in 2010. The Lady Sluggers coaching staff was also named the 18U Travel Coaching Staff of the Year by the NFCA in 2006.

Bishop  was also an assistant at Holmes High School in Covington, Ky. during the 2009 season.

Bishop earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Kentucky in 2011 in Kinesiology. She currently resides in Barbourville.
