Meanwhile, senior Wesley Lamberson captured Union's ninth individual national championship in program history, winning the Men's Division II Individual Omnium.
Haile also successfully hosted the program's first home event in September of 2012 on the Turner Property off of US 25E outside of Barbourville. The Bulldogs finished second in the event, as 10 teams from across the Southeast participated.
A native of Fort Collins, Colo., Haile is a graduate of Lees-McRae (N.C.), where he also completed on the cycling team helping it to strong finishes in NCCA Division I. In 2010, Haile placed seventh overall individually as Lees-McRae finished second. As an athlete Haile has raced at the highest level in mountain bike, cyclocross, road and triathlon.
