BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Three unanswered goals by the Union College men's soccer team led to a 3-1 victory over Berea (Ky.) College on Wednesday at Burch/Nau Field. The win extended the Bulldogs' winning streak to three games.

Union's record improved to 5-1-2 on the year. On the other side, Berea left with a 1-2 record.

The Bulldogs tied the contest and took the lead all in the first half. A ball played by Sideek Sanogo (Ivory Coast) and mishandled by Berea's goalkeeper Chase Cole rolled to Mbzio Mzamane (Johannesburg, South Africa) for the game-tying goal at the 36-minute mark.

Liam Johnson (East Yorkshire, England) put the ball away to give Union the lead with two minutes left in the half. He received the ball off Aaron Miller's (Cincinnati, Ohio) head. Miller deflected the ball after Kirk Shufflebarger (Cold Springs, Ky.) took a Union corner kick. It was one of 16 corner kicks for Union in the contest.

An insurance goal came with eight minutes left. Marc Pierre (Haiti) played a through ball for the goal. Brett Smith (Berea, Ky.) was credited with the assist. Union head coach Tyler Brock put Smith in to provide a spark and that he did.

Berea struck for the opening goal in the 22nd minute when Carlos Hernandez took a pass from Ismeila Ceesay for the goal.
