WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - The 2008 Union College cross country season hit the trails on Friday at the Shawnee State Invitational and a pair of Bulldogs posted Top-30 finishes on the 10 kilometer course while battling the heat in the first race of the season.

Daniel Kual (Stone Mountain, Ga.) crossed the finish line in 24th with a time of 29 minutes and 41 seconds. Brennan O'Quinn (Meadowview, Va.) used a run of 30:35 to crack the Top-30 at 29th.

Cody Miller (Middlesboro, Ky.) finished at the 34:07 mark.

Shawnee State's Keagan Rathkamp covered the course in a winning time of 25:47 to help the team to the invitational championship. Shawnee State took seven of the Top-9 spots and totaled 17 points. Berea (Ky.) College finished second with 62 points.

Next on the schedule is the Berea Invitational on September 20.
