BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Dan Johnson has signed to continue his soccer career at Union College. He is the latest English player to sign with the Bulldogs, giving Union five entering the 2008 season.

Johnson is a 6-foot-2 defender and attended Woodhey. He is a native of Lancashire.

"He is an ideal center back that we expect to come in and contribute on our back line," Union head coach Tyler Brock said. "Dan is a strong and aggressive player."

Brock also looks forward to Johnson's ability to organize the Union defense. He will be surrounded by three returning starters in the back row.

He joins the Bulldogs after a 10-7-1 record in 2007. Union opens the 2008 campaign on Wednesday, August 27, at West Virginia Tech.
