BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's and women's tennis teams recorded non-conference wins on Saturday with both squads winning 9-0 over visiting Berea (Ky.).

With the wins, the Union men are now 5-7 overall with the women improving to 3-10 overall

Men's Match

Union posted another dominating win of the season with a 9-0 decision against Berea. This is Union's second 9-0 victory of the 2017 campaign. Previously, the Bulldogs' 9-0 win was against Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) foe Montreat.

Union took control of the match from the outset, winning all three doubles matches by the scores of 8-2, 8-1 and 8-1.

The impressive play continued in singles play. As all six matches, Union did not lose a single set. Mic Moore (SR/Barbourville, Ky.) won the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 7-6 (1), while Jacob Markley (JR/Cynthiana, Ky. ) won the No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-0. In No. 3 singles, Egil Brudvik (JR/Aasgaardstrand, Norway) won 6-2, 6-0 as Joshua Souane (SR/Sedition, Senegal) in the No. 4 singles slot winning won 6-0, 6-0. Tylor Crawford (FR/Barbourville, Ky.) won his match 6-1, 6-2. In addition, Brandon Matthews (JR/Somerset, Ky.) won 6-1, 6-3, while Joseph Gemmer (JR/Carrollton, Ky. ) won his match 6-0,6-0. 

Women's Match

In singles, Union turned things around sweeping the first five flights. At No. 1 singles, Brittany Lamb (FR/Atlanta, Ga.) took a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Erika Broady (JR/Charleston, Ind.) collected a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 2 position. Then at No. 3, Kacie Dotson (FR/Lancaster, Ky.) recorded the win 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, No. 1 Lamb and Dotson defeated Alicia Bedollah and Ashley Ferrell 8-2, as the rest would be forfeit from Berea.
