BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's tennis team recorded an 8-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) over visiting Milligan (Tenn.) on Wednesdya, while the women's team fell 3-6.

With the win, the Union men are now 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the AAC with the women falling to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Men's Match

Union went back to winning ways with a 8-1 decision against Milligan.

Union took control of the match from the outset, winning two of the three doubles matches by the scores of 8-3 and 8-1, but the Bulldogs dropped the final doubles match by a score of 9-8 (4).

The Bulldogs dominated in singles play defeating the Buffs in all six matches. Union did not lose a single set. Srdjan Trosic (JR/Novi Sad, Serbia) won the No. 1 seed winning 6-0, 6-0. Borna Bartolovic (JR/Zagreb, Croatia) won the No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-0, while Ewan McKinnie won the No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0. In No. 4 singles, Egil Brudvik (JR/Aasgaardstrand, Norway) won 5-0, then retired as Tiago Gil (JR/Figeria da Foz, Portugal) in the No. 5 singles slot winning 6-2, 6-2. Ethan Wright (JR/Brandenburg, Ky. ) won his match 6-3, 6-3.

Women's Match

In singles, Union swept the first flight as number one, Ljiljana Pajcin (FR/Belgrade, Serbia) took a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Erika Broady (JR/Charleston, Ind.) went 6-4, 7-5, and Kacie Dotson (FR/Lancaster, Ky.) took a 6-3, 6-0 win.

The Buffs were able to nab the victories at the No.2 and No.3 seed, but No. 3 seed Brittany Lamb (FR/Atlanta, Ga.) battled for a 2-6,6-5, 6-3 loss.

In doubles, No. 1 Pajcin and Carla Delgado (FR) fell to Lexie Hill and Abigal Allen 8-6. No.2 doubles would also fall as Broady and Lamb fought for a tough 8-6 loss.
