BARBOURVILLE, Ky.Travis Faig, of Sevier County High School, has signed to swim with the Bulldogs of Union College for next season.

Faig was a Tennessee State Championship qualifier each of his four years at Sevier County. He qualified in the 200-meter backstroke, 200 butterfly and 200 individual medley. Faig was also a member of the junior Olympic team in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke along with a pair of relay events.

For his efforts, Faig was among the Top-16 swimmers in the Knoxville Interscholastic League.

He was a member of the Sevier Aquatic Club Stingrays for coach Jay Newton.

“Travis is a very talented swimmer and can swim all four strokes really well,” Rafael Forti, Union’s head coach, commented. “I see him focusing on the backstroke, breaststroke, and individual medley events.”

Union finished the season at the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championship with a 14th-place finish.
