BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's tennis head coach Roscoe Moonieyan has announced that Ellen Denham has signed her National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the start of the 2014-15 school year.

Denham is a product of Presentation Academy in Louisville, Kentucky, where she has started on the girls varsity tennis team since her freshman year. In her senior season, Denham played in the number one position in singles, finishing third in her region to qualify for the Kentucky State Tournament. In her first two years in the program, Denham also played at number one in doubles, finishing second in the region in her sophomore year.

Off the court, Denham has been impressive in the classroom, making the All-State Academic Team in each of her four seasons at Presentation. To earn the award, a student-athlete must post a 3.75 grade point average or higher, while playing a varsity sport.

"It's great to add such an elite all-around athlete to the program like Ellen is," said Moonieyan. "She has a good foundation to her tennis game, with a good serve, and she still has so much room to grow. She has a a great attitude and is a great person in general.

"[Denham] will definitely serve as an asset to the program this year and we are looking forward to having her join us here at Union."

Union is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
