BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's soccer head coach Tyler Brock has announced that Tanner Forrest has signed his National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the Fall Semester and the 2014 season later this Summer.

Forrest, a native of La Grange, Kentucky, will be a defender for the Bulldogs when he joins the squad in August.

"Tanner is a quality addition for our program and I feel he has a chance to come and compete right away if he comes in fit," said Brock. "It's hard for us to compete and get the better players in the state a lot of the time because the number of schools and options kids have out there, but I definitely feel that have done that with Tanner. Tanner possess a good understanding of the game and is very patient and composed when he plays out of the back.

"His defensively ability is definitely going to help sure up a defense that was a bit shakeup last year."

Forrest has clubbed with the River City Rovers in Louisville, helping the team win a Disney Showcase event. The Rovers also were runners-up and semifinalist in tournament play during Forrest's club career. He is the son of Kim and Philip Forrest.
