BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's tennis coach Roscoe Moonieyan has announced that Joe Gemmer has signed his National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the Fall Semester later this year.

Gemmer will join the Bulldog program from a prep career at Carroll County High School in Carroll, Kentucky, where he has been his team's Most Valuable Player for the last four seasons. A member of the Carroll County varsity team since the fifth grade, Gemmer is the defending Northern Central Kentucky Conference (NCKC) Singles Champion after finishing second in 2012.

"Joe is going to be a great addition to our mens' program with his passion for the game," said Moonieyan. "His height and tennis physique is going to be one of his biggest advantages with helping grow into a solid all-around player. We look forward to having such an athlete join us next year, and I look forward to seeing the tennis he will become over the next few years."

Union is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
