BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's swimming head coach Rafael Forti has announced that Nathan Lethbridge has signed his National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the Fall 2014 semester.

Lethbridge will join the Union program from London, Ontario, Canada, where he prepped at Saunders Secondary School, also swimming with the London Aquatic Club, as well.

"I am very happy Nathan has decided to continue his studies and swimming career at Union," said Forti. "He is a fast swimmer and despite being already fast, he still has a lot of room for improvement left. He will help our men's team with its main needs: sprinters. He is fast in the freestyle and butterfly short distance events. Not only that, he will also improve our relays, as I see him competing for a spot in them right away.

"[Lethbridge] will provide a significant positive impact right away in our roster, I am looking forward to start working with him."

In his native country, Lethbridge was a Provincial Champion in both the 50 and 100-free, was a Senior National Qualifier, and broke five school records at Saunders Secondary.

Nathan, the son of Susan and Daniel Lethbridge, plans to major in Education when he arrives at Union College in the fall.
