GEORGETOWN, Ky. - A six-run fifth inning was enough to send host and No. 4 Georgetown (Ky.) past Union as the Bulldogs saw their four-game win streak came to an end with the 11-6 decision on Wednesday.

The loss puts Union at 33-16 overall, while Georgetown is now 35-6 on the year.

After falling being 3-0 in the first and trailing 4-1 after two innings, the Bulldogs evened things up with a three-run rally in the third. Union had only three hits in the frame but took advantage of an error and a hit batter to push the runs across. Miguel Mendez (SR/Lansing, Mich.) and John Wilson (JR/Manchester, Ky.) each had RBIs in the third, helping Union tie the game at 4-4.

In the fifth, Union took a 5-4 advantage when Wilson reached on an error to allow Mendez to score.

But in the bottom of the fifth, Georgetown reeled off seven hits to produce six runs to grab a 10-5 lead. Tyler Coker had the big hit of the outburst, a two-run triple.

Both teams tacked on a run; Union in the seventh and Gerogetown in the eight, making the final 11-6.

Ryan Horvath (JR/Madison Heights, Mich.) led Union at the plate in going 3-for-4 with a RBI, while Wilson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
