BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's soccer head coach Camila Mendes has announced that Sharika Ingram has signed her National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the start of the 2014 season this fall.

Ingram, who will primarily play in the midfield, is a native of Manchester, Jamaica.

"Sharika is a utility player with a great personality," said Mendes. "She is a very technical and defensive minded player. She is also very aggressive, strong with balls in the air, and she will be a good physical presence in the middle for us."

In her native country, Ingram prepped at St. Elizabeth Technical High School and attended GC Foster College. She has represented her country at the youth level as a member of the Jamaican National Team, while being selected at the club level as the top defender and most improved player in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

Union is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
