ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. - The Union College women's golf team sits in sixth place overall after the first round of the 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Spring Championship. The event is being hosted by Milligan (Tenn.) at the par 72 Elizabethton Golf Course.

Combined, the Bulldogs posted a first round score of 357, as Milligan leads the way heading into the final round with a team score of 336.

Individually, Katie Nusz (JR/Mount Washington, Ky.) and Sydney Smith (SO/Greensburg, Ky.) paced Union in the first round, as the pair both posted 87's on the first day of competition to sit in a tie for 18th overall. Rounding out the top finishers on the day or the Bulldogs was Danielle Judd (SO/Louisville, Ky.), who fired a 90 to put herself in a tie for 27th.

The AAC Spring Championship concludes Tuesday afternoon in Elizabethton.
