ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Union senior William White is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the first time this season the Manchester, Ky., native has received this award, and it's the second time for his career. White previously received the award on April 1, 2013.
White placed in the top 10 in four events at the PowerSox Invitational in Hickory, N.C. His best performace came in the hammer throw as he placed third, breaking the school record with a toss of 129 feet, 8 inches. White also placed fifth in the javelin with a 131 foot, 11 inch effort.
The Union & field teams will take part in two events next weekend, splitting up between the Shorter (Ga.) Invitational and the Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) Invite on Mar. 29.
