BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's swimming head coach Rafael Forti has announced that Sarah Cummins has signed her National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the Fall 2014 semester.

Cummins, a Carnoustie, Scotland native, will primarily swim individual medley events for the Bulldogs.

"Sarah brings in good years of swimming experience with her and she will provide a positive impact right away," said Forti. "She will add much needed depth to our IM events, but she might also spend some time in backstroke and freestyle events, as well as relay events. I am glad she decided to join us in the coming fall."

In her native country, Cummins has prepped at Carnoustie High School, while clubbing with Arbroath St. Thomas. She has been her school's champion for the last five years, has been a club champion, was the first home to swim one mile of open water on the Loch Earn, and the 21st woman in round Christiansborg Copenhagen.

Cummins plans to major in Nursing when she enrolls at Union College in the fall.
