ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Nelson Price (JR, Burkesville, Ky.) is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Baseball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the second week for the AAC honors, and the first time a Bulldog has received one. This is the second time in Price's career he received the award, having earned it on April 8, 2013.

Price helped Union to a 2-1 record last week, batting .538 with two home runs and seven RBIs. He also scored four runs. His clubbed a grand slam in an 11-4 win at Milligan (Tenn.) to finish with five RBIs, the most by a Bulldog in a game this season.

On the year, Price leads the team in batting (.400), home runs (five) and RBIs (30). He boasts a .717 slugging percentage and a .494 on-base percentage. Price has matched his career high for home runs in a season and has 15 four-baggers for his career. He also eclipsed the 100-RBI mark for his career as he now sits at 102.

Price ranks third in the NAIA in total RBIs and eighth for total home runs.

The Bulldogs are 15-6 overall and 5-1 in the AAC.

Union returns to action Tuesday when it plays host to Purdue Calumet (Ind.) in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
